What is the greatest predictor of a good relationship? Have you ever wondered why some conversations don’t feel gratifying, and why others just click? Have you come away from sharing some news with a friend, relative, or colleague feeling either unheard, confused, or wishing you hadn’t shared at all? Well, I have— and with some of the most important people in my life.
Over time, I came to the realization that I could not change anyone but myself. I began exploring yoga, meditation, Buddhist philosophy, exercise and nutrition, emotional intelligence, and traditional psychology — all of which led me to the science of positive psychology. What is so fascinating about positive psychology is that by using gold standard scientific research, it reinforces and explains those other methods of supporting well-being. Positive psychology provides insight not only into why our brains and body react to various behaviors and stimuli, but also how to use this information to flourish. Positive psychology provides accessible insights into those nagging relationship questions and offers practical, simple, and effective answers.
Please, join Robin Eckel, JD, CAPP, in this Positive Relationship workshop series, as she presents the science of positive psychology research which sheds light on what makes a relationship satisfying and gratifying. With hands on interactive positive psychology interventions we explore evolutionary psychology and positive psychology research that explains why we evolved to crave human connection; and how the brain and body react to various forms of communication styles and behaviors. Each 2 hour workshop will leave you with simple and practical techniques that will enhance your daily interactions and help create more satisfying relationships.
