Positive1 is dedicated to bringing positive psychology, yoga, and meditation to you, your organization, group, or firm. Positive1 is based in the Philadelphia area founded by Robin Eckel, a Certified Practitioner of Positive Psychology, Registered Yoga Teacher, meditator, tennis player, mom of 3, wife, friend, and daughter who was once a Deputy Attorney General, criminal appellate and civil litigator in her former life. With emphasis on the 6 pillars of positive psychology: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Purpose, Achievement and Vitality, Robin’s workshops and presentations weave in breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga asana to promote both physical and mental well-being at home, at work, in court, on the court, and throughout your day. Conversely, Robin’s yoga classes weave in positive psychology research that validates ancient yoga philosophy.

Robin Eckel, JD, CAPP, RYT-200, Founder
Robin Eckel is a life coach, speaker, and yoga instructor. After earning her undergraduate degree from Rutgers College in Economics and Business Administration and her law degree from The John Marshall law School in Chicago, Illinois, Robin became a Deputy Attorney General, and married a young pediatric resident about to embark on an Anesthesiology residency in NYC.
After a number of years of practicing public and private appellate and trial level litigation in NJ, then a move to PA for her husband’s career, and the successive arrival of 3 children, Robin swapped her briefcase and became an avid community volunteer. As her children got older, and her relationships grew more complicated, her volunteering became less rewarding as a full time endeavor. Robin found a new passion: yoga and later positive psychology, receiving a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP.55 Philadelphia) through the Flourishing Center of NYC. She realized that these two methodologies blend perfectly to offer emotional and physical support to herself, her friends, her kids, her aging parents, and to people of all ages in professional and non-professional arenas alike.
Following her mission to spread this message, Robin developed and presents a number of workshops on using Positive Psychology to improve wellbeing in the legal profession, on the tennis court, in relationships, and during a pandemic. A lifelong yogi, she began to incorporate meditation, yoga philosophy, and asana into her positive psychology workshops. The positive feedback, led her to become a Registered Yoga Teacher through The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Heath, and to incorporate positive psychology into her yoga classes as well.
